Digital Aesthetic³ 2012 is an international exhibition and conference which explores the impact that the digital has on our sense of self and our relationship to the physical world. It is the third and final manifestation of the Digital Aesthetic series which included The Digital Aesthetic, (2001) and Digital Aesthetic 2 (2007).
The exhibition is housed in two of Preston’s key venues; the Harris Museum & Art Gallery, and the University of Central Lancashire’s PR1 Gallery. It demonstrates some of the diverse ways that artists are utilising digital technology, including projection, digital print, 3d work, screen based video work, touch panel installation, and a live interactive website.
The two day conference is an unmissable event for anyone interested in digital art. It will explore the ideas connected to the question of Digital Aesthetic³ 2012 through a broad array of presentations and performances that showcase a variety of relevant contemporary viewpoints in specialist areas. It will contain presentations by some of the biggest and most important names in the field, so be sure to book your tickets as soon as they are made available.
Collectively these ideas and works will encourage visitors to think about how their own perception of reality is shaped by their relationship to the digital. Digital Aesthetic³ 2012 promises to be the most ambitious and dynamic edition of the Digital Aesthetic series.
